2-28-24 THOUGHTS

In each of our lives are times when we must quietly wait on the Lord.  God is shown below as a ROCK and the stronghold of our salvation.  Other keywords are “my glory rest, refuge, my hope is from Him.”   “I shall not be shaken” is the idea. Verse 8...  “Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.”    There’s an old song that contains the words, “Where could I go but to the Lord?”   Enjoy thinking on  1Cor 10:4   and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.

Ps 62:1-8      My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.  2  He only is my rock and my salvation,  My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken. 3  How long will you assail a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?  4  They have counseled only to thrust him down from his high position; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouth, But inwardly they curse. Selah.  5  My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. 6  He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.  7  On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.   8  Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Ps 18:46  The LORD lives, and blessed be my rock; And exalted be the God of my salvation,
Ps 94:22  But the LORD has been my stronghold, And my God the rock of my refuge.
Ps 95:1   O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
Isa 26:4  "Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock.

My Prayer:
O God of all eternity, thank You for the stability we can gain from You and Your unchanging nature.  We are weak and fickle, needing refuge from ourselves and the world around us.  May we trust in You fully, and sing for joy to You as You save us entirely.  Help us to wait on You, and to pour out our hearts before You... our Eternal Rock.   In the name of our Savior,        Amen.
